“Building my confidence with the horses, at first, I was scared, but by the end (of the session) I was calm. He was so big - it was scary.  By the end, I learnt to be calm so he would be calm.   I was able to have the horse walk backwards on my own by the end.  I knew using my body language and being calm (was important) to have him move.”   (MS, age. 14, 2020)

“When x first walked into the paddock, she was extremely nervous, I was concerned she wouldn’t go near the horse, but with Anita’s calm persona x was able to build her confidence to talk up to the horse, then lead. I was surprised how x reacted with the horses even bringing her friend into the paddock who was also scared. X was able to move the horses to allow her friend to enter the yard, without any assistance from Anita by the end of the session.  (parent, 2020).
